Responsible Green Tourism!

The effect of the recent arrival of mass tourism, both positive and negative, are being felt in Vietnam. While positive contributions include dollars are flowing into the local economy, the creation of jobs and growing sense of globalisation, it is important for travellers  to recognise and head the potential damaging costs of your visit on the country as a whole!
Negative effects of tourism both domestic and international can be markedly reduced by responsible travel and general respect for local culture and customs. By minimising negative impact each visitor can make a difference!

Below some guide lines for responsible green tourism:

  • Only shower for 3 minutes!

  • Use your fan instead of the air conditioner!
  • Put the air conditioner off - if you use it - when you leave your hotel room!
  • Drink local juices instead of canned drinks
  • Rent a bicycle! (see also green activities)
  • Eat local food!
  • Use a metal refill water bottle!

  • Order your drink without a straw!
  • Look for a hotel with solar water heaters!
  • Use a solid bag instead accepting plastic bags!
  • Take out what you take in! (National parks, beaches etc!)
  • Take you empty batteries home!
